Less than one hour north of Springfield, join for an in-depth tour of PrairiErth Farm which has pioneered the way in the local slow food movement. The land has been farmed organically by the Bishop family for over thirty years. Dave Bishop will guide us around the land to see the cattle, free-range chickens, heritage pigs, as well as various vegetable and fruit crops. The Bishop family loves to share their story and expertise to inspire others to eat local and consider pursuing a career farming. The farm tour lasts from 10:30am to 11:50pm. Be sure to wear proper footwear for traversing the fields (no flip flops please). Also, in preparation for summer weather, we advise you to bring sunscreen, a water bottle and perhaps a hat.
Directly following the tour, we will caravan just five minutes down the road to the local eatery, Palms Grill Cafe. They will offer a buffet-style lunch with vegetables sourced from PrairErth Farm. The full menu selection is as follows:
